Chapter 17

Blockade

Bobbi awoke groggily. The last thing she remembered was having an orgasm from Fandeia aggressively playing with her clitoris. What happened last night was extremely unfair! First, Fandeia pinned down her hands and chest so that the cleric was in the driver's seat. Then Fandeia unlocked the chastity belt and attacked her sex without any foreplay whatsoever!

Bobbi was a domineering bitch who enjoyed being on top and in control. Having this unexpected role reversal put her in a foul mood this morning. Also, she realized that the sisters skipped her turn for night watch duty. Again.

The champion sighed. Bobbi knew the other party members meant well. But she hated receiving special treatment. It made her look weak. Bobbi threw off the bedroll and stood up.

"Good morning!"

Speak of the devil! Bobbi slowly turned her head. She didn't know how to greet last night's bed partner. If Bobbi showed a happy face, then Fandeia would misread how Bobbi felt; this could encourage the cleric to do the same thing again! But if Bobbi scowled at the priestess, then that would ruin the mood when she started to reconcile with the sisters. Bobbi decided to a compromise by showing a blank expression. She nodded at the greeter and approached the campfire.

Blanstaire handed Bobbi a hot bowl of oatmeal.

The paladin sat and slowly ate the bland food. She read the notification: "Improved relations with Fandeia! +1,000 XP, +1,000 Bonus XP." Well, at least Bobbi received some experience points out of last night's annoying tryst. It served as a soothing salve for her bruised ego.

The four sisters traded looks. They hoped their Champion would be happier this morning. Perhaps Fandeia was too aggressive for Bobbi's taste.

Fandeia shrugged at Laywen, who knew that she could not approach Bobbi the same way tonight.

Kudra tried to lighten the atmosphere. "Today we will use the road and head toward Vessar. Remember that Blanstaire will take the lead in any interactions we have on the road with other travelers," she reminded the party.

Bobbi grunted her acceptance. She knew the ranger had directed the comment to her.

The party packed up and resumed the journey. Kudra took the lead while Bobbi and Fandeia took the outer perimeter and Laywen drew rearguard in a diamond formation. Blanstaire stayed at the center while Katrazi walked in front of her. Nobuir scouted in its raven form.

Bobbi was glad that the party had entered the road. The ground was smooth and easy to walk on, compared to the bumpy and treacherous terrain within the forest.

The day flew by in the blink of an eye as the road was desolate and silent. However, the party maintained its vigilance because there were too many trees and shrubs near the road for ambushers to hide behind. In the late afternoon, they heard a rumbling from behind.
