To all cast and crew – we need your help. Please find attached a photo of some of you by the lake. Take a good look at the woman in the photo. We think she may be connected to Tommy’s disappearance and we need to find out who she is. If any of you have spoken to her, or have any clues to her identity at all, please email me back asap. Any information is good. We think her name is Sally – or she may be calling herself something different. Has she mentioned a favourite shop? Have you seen her eating something out of a bag with an identifiable label? Does she live near Mona Vale? Anything, no matter how trivial, please let me know. Thanks, Grant.

The useful answers were slow in coming. The first replies were all just saying sorry, never spoke to her. It wasn’t looking too good. Mum consoled us while we waited anxiously by suggesting that I text the vampires – well, she called them the boys, not the vampires – and get them to bring pizza, which they did. We sat, we ate, we waited, we threw ideas around, we ate more. It was about two hours before the first useful answer arrived.

Hi Grant.

I might have something useful. I think she lives over near Beckenham. It was that day the council had Barrington Street closed for major road works and a few of us got held up in the detour. We were all bitching about how long it took us to get to Mona Vale and she joined in, saying how she had gone “back” to Colombo Street and risked biking down Moorhouse and around the bottom of the park. If she went “back” to Colombo then she must have come from around there to start with, which makes me think she lives in Beckenham or nearby. Cheers, Marg (the props lady who handles your sword haha)

“Does she now?” Mum laughed at the sign-off.

“Every night,” Grant grinned. “Seriously, though, that’s huge – the information, not the sword, Susan get your mind out of the gutter! That means she lives close to the McCormacks. Tommy might be just around the corner from them.”

‘That makes sense,” the Rev broke in. “If she’s been planning this for a while, then she would need somewhere close by to take him. If she only has a bike then she’s going to know she wouldn’t have time to cycle with him on the back right across town before the alarm went up. Or if she’s been watching their house and was waiting for a chance to lure him away, she’d need to get him out of sight fast. Either way, if it was me, somewhere close would be my choice.”

“That’s good, isn’t it?” Aiden asked.

You’d think!” Grant replied. “But I doubt she’s going to have a big arrow in the window saying ‘here I am’. It might have made the haystack a bit smaller, but it’s still a bloody big one for the size of the needle we’re hunting for.
