Keep It Simple

Cujo, a 10-year-old cat with plenty of attitude, spends most of her days lounging in the house. Her family has tried to no avail to get her interested in toys. She always responds with an indignant glance and turns away in disgust at the suggestion that she might be so juvenile as to actually play.

Recently, however, Cujo was caught in her secret life of kitten-hood. Alone on the bureau sat a ball of yarn, which was attached to the scanty beginnings of a crocheted scarf. By the time Cujo got through with it, there was a web stretching across the bed, around the lamp, and ending piled in a tangle on the floor. So don’t underestimate the cheap ball of red yarn. But always supervise play with yarn, so that your cat doesn’t accidentally swallow it, and put the yarn away when playtime is over.
