Finding the campground: This wayside is located on the east side of the Parks Highway at mile 185.6.

About the campground: This is a good example of a wayside camping area if you’ve never seen one. The campground resembles a large rest area with picnic tables, fire pits, and grills. There are eleven established camping spots, but it is easy to tell this was not originally intended to be an overnight area. Many sites are completely paved, without any earth or gravel to pitch a tent. RVs of any length, however, will be able to fit on the large paved shoulder of the loop road. There are also four walk-in tent sites near large trees. One looks to have been designed as a group picnic area, and indeed it would make a nice site for a group as it includes a large covered picnic shelter with two large picnic tables. With sparkling-clean vault toilets, this is a rather popular quick stop for Parks Highway travelers.
