Chapter Nine

Not wanting to be late, the seven of us arrived a good ten minutes early for the confrontation, taking both the metallic blue Cobra and the garishly bright pink Audi convertible. My Ginny drove her car of course, and she had Aurora and Carmen in there with her. It just made sense, so those three could stay put from the get-go, and not get out of the car at all until it was all said and done. They were also partially shielded by Janice’s car, though they had a mostly clear view of the field about fifty more yards up the road.

Me, Janice, Nicole, and Dawn slipped out of her car, and then just waited for a few minutes. Janice already had the spell active, and we all had skintight armor on below our normal clothes that covered from our knees to our necks. Not perfect, but extremity shots in our lower legs and arms would most likely not be deadly, and head shots were just a risk we’d have to live with.

Still, if things went as I’d hoped, they wouldn’t even get a chance to pull a trigger. It was even possible just our presence would make them back off, so we’d see. Although, I suspected that was wishful thinking on my part. God of war after all. His followers wouldn’t be easily cowed, and not nearly as reluctant as I was to do some killing.

Janice was in a loose pair of black stretchy pants and a white blouse with the armor beneath it. Nicole was in a thin and conforming pink sweater dress that had a low back for her wings, while my Dawn just had on a cute red sundress. She didn’t have armor, because she’d be shifting for the fight. So would my Nicole of course, but her body didn’t change at all save the wings from her shoulder blades and clawed hands, so we just had to modify the armor to take that into account. Otherwise, it was just her head turning hawkish as she gained a silver beak and her hands turning to claws. But Dawn would be a fierce lioness with wings.

I’d have been more worried, but Janice told me she could enhance the natural protectiveness of her golden-brown fur coat and thick monster hide. Not as bullet proof as us, but enough to prevent the bullet going deep enough to hit vital organs.

It was only a few minutes later when Caroline and Bree arrived, pulling up behind Ginny’s car.

Caroline was lissome and the same height as Janice at five feet and nine inches. Their bodies were very similar, save Caroline only had rounded B cups. She had a lithe and graceful toned dancer’s body, and a cutely pretty face framed by light blonde hair with light brown eyes.

Her monster mate Bree was a petite sexpot like my Nicole at five feet and one inch tall. With light brown hair and blue eyes, and an attractive face. In her monster form, she was a snake below the waist and had wicked fangs in her mouth, that were deadly and quite venomous.
