Chapter 10
Their wedding was on the last Saturday in June on a bright sunny afternoon. It took place on The Lorelei, one of the yachts belonging to Liam Moses. Cain had tried to convince her to let them just have a small ceremony and get rid of the ton of work it took to plan a wedding.
âI'm not going to have your mother taking her affection from me just when we're bonding. We're doing this.â
âYou have a store to runââ
âAnd I can delegate. And Leesa and Kelly have taken the responsibility of the wedding planning away from me. Not to mention, your mother wants to be involved and mine is reluctantly coming on board. â
âGood to know,â he'd told her in amusement.
He'd changed from being a man mired in his past ever since she'd come into his life. She'd taken him golfing on a private golf course that she told him belonged to a friend of her dadâs. He wanted more but was afraid to ask and the fact that she never said anything to him about the arrangement gave him pause. She didn't want to be with him for more than the year, and when the time came he was going to have to accept it and let her go. But he couldn't think of that now. He had asked her for a year, and he had to honor the agreement. But he'd fallen in love with her and had no idea what he was going to do after she was gone from his life.
He'd heard the whispers and the gasps from the people gathered to witness the nuptials as she'd made her way towards him and couldn't blame them. Morgan Antoinette Whitfield defined the word beauty in an entirely different way. The dress was an off-white creation, off the shoulders and hugging her small breasts lovingly. It came to just above her knees and was made of the finest lace he'd ever seen. Her hair was loose around her face, held back from the sides with jeweled clips. Her makeup was flawless, and she was smiling as she looked at him. Her bouquet of peonies and daffodils was clasped in front of her. This woman,
