Interestingly, there is little evidence that certain types prefer one leadership style over another, but there is clear evidence that type is associated with some particular leadership behaviors. Some of this research is noted in the research summary. Leaders and coaches can use type to become aware of their behavioral strengths and work through the potential blind spots associated with their type. For example, it is clear that certain types are over-represented among managers and leaders-the TJ style in particular. The strengths (e.g., emphasis on decisiveness, competence and goal-orientation) and potential blind spots (e.g., not attending to group process, failing to involve others in decision-making) associated with this style can impact everything that leader does in the organization.
