To sum it all up, the entire Celestron GOTO binoscope project only took about 3 months to design and build. All of the necessary hardware such as the nuts, bolts, and screws were conveniently found at a local Home Depot. All of the electronics, gears, stepper motors, software, and the hand controller that make up the GOTO system were cannibalized from a Celestron NexStar 4SE purchased at a local swap meet for a very low price. Also something to make note of was using a pair of 1¼-in. prismatic microscope eyepiece holders cannibalized from an older Nikon microscope purchased at a local swap meet made the entire project even more satisfying. Once the dual microscope assemblies are mounted on the dual Celestron binoscopes using a pair of 1¼ adapters (see Fig. 2.​20), just a slight rotation of either microscope holder will not change the original image orientation and will allow for just about any IPD adjustment needed. And with just a slight twist of a lock screw will secure either one in place for a night of comfortable binoscope viewing.

This was a fun binoscope project to build. The end result was a one-of-a-kind dual GOTO 102-mm f/6 Celestron binoscope with a 40 K object database that almost everyone who gets a chance to view through it and uses it for the first time wants to build one too.
