Zack reread the last few texts and smiled. Taking things one day at a time might work.

He rolled out of bed then stretched, looking around. He lived in a studio apartment, so there wasn’t a lot of space, but he thought it suited him perfectly. He needed to clean it up today, though, because even if David had seen the mess last night and didn’t care, tonight it would be different. Tonight was planned, so Zack had to make some effort.

After a quick lunch, he started cleaning and, as he was sorting clothes and gathering up the dishes, he couldn’t help thinking about him and David. But instead of worrying about what might be, he tried to focus on the good stuff—on how great last night had been, even before the sex—on how David fit right against him, how responsive he was, how he gave as much as he got, how Zack seemed to get high on his scent, seemed to crave it more and more.

His sheets smelled of both of them and he hesitated before pulling them off. Then he realized how ridiculous he was and stripped the bed quickly. If the evening went as he hoped it would, the new sheets were going to smell like them anyway. Zack grinned at the thought as he took his laundry bag and smiled all the way to the laundry room.
