CHAPTER 24

“Why the fuck is he here?” snarled a seething soon-to-be alpha.

“Oh, I missed you too. Have you been a good boy while I have been gone? Does someone get a treat for being a good boy?” He flashed his cocky smile.

“The only treat I can think of would be to break your jaw clear off your face!” snarled Rowan.

Placing his hand on his chest Monty gasped, “And ruin this perfection. Do you know the kind of travesty that would cause the women of this world who would no longer get to gaze upon this face?”

“Do you not hear yourself?” Sage stood and took his place next to Rowan. Intense eyes bore into me, which made me feel very uncomfortable as I stood next to the disheveled angel. This did not look good.

I watched as Monty face lit up upon seeing Sage, “Oh, well hello there, pretty boy, I didn’t realize you were here too, of course I hear myself. Listening to myself is like listening to the song of Persephone, it’s magical.”

Rowan’s furious focus turned to me. “Odette, I am going to ask you again: why the fuck is he here? Did you invite him into pack land?”

“Yeah, so you’re not going to talk to her like that.” My eyes widened in shock at Monty’s defense of me, “You see my girl here—"

“She is not your girl!” Rowan’s voice boomed and vibrated the walls. “She is mine!”

His predatory claim of me did something to me that I had never felt before as my whole body suddenly tingled, but then my mind came into the equation and remembered he was kind of a douche. My body and mind were at war.

“I think me and Odette here are on a whole new level that you will never understand, Lassie. We’ve connected. You might be man’s best friend, but I’m hers.” The angel wrapped one muscular arm around my shoulder and brought me in for a tight side hug. I gazed over at Rowan, his jaw clenched, I watched as the vein in his forehead look as though it was about to pop. My gaze roamed to Sage, who also had murder in his eyes. If I didn’t do something quickly, these two men were going to annihilate this angel.

Wriggling free, I headed straight for my bonded. “We’ve have not connected; I have no idea what this crazy man is talking about. No, I did not invite him onto pack land.” Confusion filled my mind as I stopped and turned to face the angel. “Speaking of that, how did you get onto pack land? Trixie’s magic blocks anyone from breaking the barrier without permission.”

“You wound me.” Monty said before he nonchalantly shrugged. “Pixie magic doesn’t work on angels, I am free to do what I want, when I want.

“I am going to really wound you and get you the hell off my land.” Rowan took a step forward ready to strike the angel when Kayden crashed through the open door right behind Monty.
