I still can’t believe what happened last night, even as I watch Clarke prepare an extravagant breakfast. He won’t let me help either, insisting on treating me to yet another surprise that I hardly feel I deserve.

Instead, I’m left waiting awkwardly at the kitchen table, trying to get my thoughts straight.

Last night, simply put, was incredible. I’m not exactly a virgin, despite Clarke’s teasing, but I’ve never been made love to like that either.

It’s as if I’ve stepped into an unknown realm and it’s completely rocked me.

When Clarke presents breakfast - blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup, I feel like I must have landed in heaven. Seriously, who is this guy?

As we eat, Clarke keeps stealing looks at me, flashing me a gorgeous smile every time our eyes meet. I find myself overcome with nerves though. Despite – or perhaps because of – the intimacy we shared last night, I suddenly find myself shy.

I want to say something but once again, I’m lost for words. It seems like that happens a lot around him.

Luckily Clarke never has that problem.

“I made some extra pancakes. I thought we could take them over to my mom.”

I smile warmly - he really isn’t at all what I gathered from my first impression. He’s caring, gentle, and kind. He’s just hiding so much of that beneath a hard shell of self-preservation. Knowing what I know now, that makes perfect sense.

I’m grateful that shell seems to be dropping away though.
