Okay, so that just happened. I sat down at my desk, which was now free from the turkey invasion, and tried to figure out what exactly this meant. I honestly hadn’t been planning to ask Rory out. I’d planned to feel him out a little bit and see if I thought he was interested, so if he wasn’t, I wouldn’t make things awkward between us. I really had enjoyed the last month, playing video games with him and just being around him, and if he’d said no, that could’ve screwed everything up.

But he didn’t say no. He said yes. I also hadn’t planned on kissing him, but when he looked up at me from under those long lashes, I was done for. Now I just had to figure out where to take him on this date and how to explain the whole Daddy thing to him without freaking him out.

Everything about him told me he’d be the perfect boy for me. He was self-confident and independent in a way that really called to me. I knew that if he agreed to be my boy, every single bit of control he gave up would be because he chose to hand it over, and there was something about that idea that made him even more appealing.

Of course, because I didn’t follow my original plan and feel him out first, I had no idea if he knew anything about the lifestyle at all, so there was no guarantee he’d agree to even try.

This next week was going to be a rough one for him. I knew he was close to his goal, but he only had a few more days to get everything done. I’d seen firsthand the drive he had to make this business a success, so I knew he wouldn’t stop until he had everything finished. I hated there was nothing I could do to help him. I wasn’t artistic and had zero cookie-decorating skills, but I could make sure he was eating and taking plenty of breaks.

Now the question was, what should we do for our date? We’d had a lot of conversations while playing video games about what we liked to do, so I knew he liked to read, and he loved those true-crime podcasts. He also loved Japanese food but wasn’t crazy about sushi and was a big superhero movie buff. But there were no good movies out right now, and I wasn’t planning on committing any crimes, so no Bonnie and Clyde adventures for us. I would have to think about it and do a little research to see what I could find, but a simple dinner and a movie wasn’t good enough. I wanted to do something that would be special.

Regardless, I needed to make sure whatever we did gave us a chance to talk about what we both wanted because the last thing I wanted was to start something with him that could go nowhere because we weren’t looking for the same thing.
