The quick groom

There is no harm in a quick groom occasionally if you’re short of time, although the feet should always be picked out and feet/shoes checked. It is a good idea to remove mud from the legs so that you can check thoroughly for signs of injury. You then need to clear dirt or mud from areas where tack or rugs will sit as this can cause rubbing and soreness, and to check for any problems.
