MUSEUMS & GALLERIES AROUND UBUD

(TELEPHONE CODE: 0361)

There is often a fine line separating museums and fine art galleries which sell paintings. Many museums also call themselves galleries and almost always have a commercial showroom on the premises. Most museums and galleries open at 8 am and many remain open on demand through the early evening.

ART GALLERIES

There are hundreds of “art shops” selling paintings in the Ubud area and dozens of so-called galleries selling similar types of paintings of dubious quality. However, there are also a number of art galleries that showcase the best of Balinese, Indonesian, and expat artists. Below is a selected list.

Adi Art Gallery, Jl. Bisma 102, Ubud, tel: 977-104. Features upcoming artists; changes shows frequently so there is always something new to see.
