CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE

A prisoner shall keep his person, cell and utensils in a high state of cleanliness.

Sugar and milk containers shall be placed on the right side of the cell with the midday meal dishes.

Cleaning rags, soap, polish jar etc., may be asked for at request time each morning from the Senior Prison Officer.

Each prisoner is responsible to keep his socks washed and darned. All other clothing is to be kept in good repair by the prisoner.

Needles and thread can be obtained from the Senior Prison Officer each evening on stepping out of the yard. These are to be returned to the Senior Prison Officer on morning request.

Prisoners in labour yards are to shower once daily, Monday to Friday, and prisoners in industry yards shall shower once daily.

All rubbish shall be placed against the front wall of the cell each morning and no refuse is to be flushed down the toilet.
