First in the list is the Alpha Ursae Minoris, which is a part of the famous constellation, called "Little Bear" or Ursa Manor. We don't often call it by its original name; instead, we call the star Polaris or simply the North Star. Funnily enough, this star IS NOT always the North Star, with the Earth wobbling on its axis. Despite that, Polaris has become a very useful tool for travelers as it serves as a dependable guide.

Should it be winter or spring in your area, try to look up at the sky during the evening. You are more likely to see the brightest star, Sirius, the Dog Star. It's also the easiest to spot not just because of its brightness, but also because of the way it sometimes changes its color.
