Contrary to our perceptions, most deaths that occur nowadays before one is over 80 are due, not to aging, but to war, crime, suicide, car and sporting accidents, terrorism, and being foolish. Remarkably, in the US today, there are over 75,000 people over 100 years old. Many people died from eating too little in past centuries, but today, many people are more likely to die from eating too much!
