Editorial Note

Their father Otto Frank was a passionate photographer, so there are numerous photos of Anne Frank and her sister Margot. The decisive criteria for the following selection were that it should include both pictures from as many phases of Anne Frank’s life as possible and depictions of people from Anne’s closest circle of acquaintances, the other inhabitants of the secret annexe, and their helpers. In addition there are some facsimile pages from Anne’s Frank’s writings, her birth certificate and both of her death certificates.
