AUBERGINE PENGUIN
This cheeky penguin table decoration is easily made from an aubergine. Jimmy mistook the one I made for one of his relatives.
Just cut a slice off the base of the aubergine so that it stands flat. Using the point of a sharp knife, trace out the line of the tummy and flippers. Peel off the skin on the tummy and then cut up through the flippers on each side, quite close to the skin. Bend the flippers up a little so that they stick out from the body. Attach a carrot using a cocktail stick to make the nose and two peas for the eyes (you can attach these using a blob of cream cheese). Then add two pieces of mini carrot for the feet. To prevent the aubergine turning brown, squeeze some lemon over the cut surfaces.
