Ohh. Remnants from hours of sex still echoed through her being. Alone with her thoughts from the night before, she toyed with the napkin that King had placed his number on. She couldn’t get his image out of her head, the way icing clung to his skin… the urge to lick it off. Had she’d been smart; she would have taken a sleeping pill and carried her ass to bed. Instead, she made a call and met up again with the man that tried to torpedo her business. Her original plan, half-assed as it was, was to entice him and leave the asshole hot and bothered. Petty, but hell, right then, she was feeling a bit childish. When he told her to meet him at Silk, that would have been opportunity number two to politely decline and carry her ass to bed. Did she do it? Of course not, nope. She dressed and made her way to Silk, making a quick detour at a convenience store to buy–what–condoms. Oh girl, your stupidity was epic from the beginning. She dressed the part, played the part and ended up playing herself. Yeah, she knew exactly what she was getting herself into when left her house to meet a man she should have left alone. If pressed, she would have to call it a draw. King gave as good as he got. At a crescendo of the composition, she raised her hands and waved them as if directing the orchestra. Did it matter, though? Not really. Her subconscious answered. It’s not like you will ever see him again. True. She nodded.
