“I have an idea,” Andre announces as he comes into Violet’s room wearing a hot pink robe that barely closes over his muscular chest. He sits on the corner of her bed, and I scurry away from Violet like we’ve been caught by her dad. Andre chuckles. “Honey, the cat’s out of the bag on this little cuddle-buddy situation y’all got going on. Now listen.”

We stretch and yawn and listen as he explains, “The movie was a hit. Let’s do it again, turn it into an event. We all need a Christmas miracle right about now. We’ll make it a fundraiser. Take donations at the door. Paul already has a name for it.”

“The Angel Wings Fund,” Paul says as he leans against Violet’s doorjamb in his matching hot pink robe, sipping coffee.

“The fund will go toward the theater rebuilding effort. And if we get enough, we’ll help Uncle Sam, too, and others. All these hot, sweaty construction workers in town, looking for something to do with their money after dark. Let’s give them something to spend it on,” Andre adds, and Violet leaps into his arms, kissing her cousin all over his face and head, clearly loving the idea.
