Operant Discrimination

Operant discrimination refers to situations in which the reinforcement of a behaviour is contingent upon the presence of another environmental stimulus (e.g. a light being on). If behaviour is only reinforced in the presence of certain stimuli, that behaviour will ultimately only be carried out when the stimulus is present.
