We lay on the bed, Khloe curled in my arms and pressed against my chest, and I never wanted to let her go.
She peeked up at me, puckering her lips the way she did when she was about to laugh and held it back. âAdmit it. That was weirdâamazingâbut weirdly amazing.â
I pretended to consider it. âWhich part? That we had no flirt time? That you wouldnât let me have any foreplay? When I hit you up for a rubber? Or you wearing the shirt the whole time?â
âThe shirt was the best part.â
âIt better not have been.â I growled and cuddled her closer. âNext time we make love, the shirt goes.â
âNext time? Pretty confident now, arenât you?â
âYes. And drawing a line at the shirt.â
I gave a playful tug at the fabric covering her. She swatted my hand and rolled her eyes.
I scrubbed the hair back from my brow. âI know you told me not to ask, but thatâs the same as making me have to. Whoâd you get the condom from?â
âMy nephew.â
âWhich one?â
âRow,â she admitted.
I grimaced. Row?
True, he was nineteen and the lead singer in a bandâbut still. âAre you telling me you hit up your nephew for a cap? What was all that rubbish outside about me being discreet when I left to follow you? The first second alone, you tell a teenager our private details.â
âOh, the being discreet? It was exactly what you said it was. Rubbish.â
She smiled.
I frowned. âWell, now that youâve confided in Row, we should just be completely honest with everyoneâyour parents includedâand move my things to your room.â
âWe donât need to explain anything to my family. Weâre together. Itâs not like my family doesnât know that we sleep together. And you can stop being annoyed about Row. Itâs no big deal. Row was in the kitchen talking to his girlfriend when I got back to the house. I figured heâd have one. He didnât even blink when I asked. Just tossed me one and kept on talking.â
I growled at her, but I wasnât annoyed. I was thankful she always planned ahead and remembered the things I forgot.
âWe should get up, shower, and dress,â she reminded.
âNo.â
Khloe giggled. âWhat do you mean no? We haveââ she leaned around me to check the clock on the nightstand. ââeight minutes until Krystal texts us.â
âPlease. Donât tell me we have to do more presents.â
âWe have to go back out there.â
âI told you not to tell me that.â
âOh, buggar on, will you? Itâll be fun.â She burrowed into my chest. âBesides, I think our present exchange went well.â
âPresent exchange?â
She shimmied her hips. âYou. Me. The bed.â
I buried my lips in her hair so she couldnât see my face. âYouâd really be happy with just that? If there wasnât a present from me for you under the tree?â
âJust that?â She quickly sat up and stared down at me. âI gave you all of my love. You gave all of yours to me. What could we find to put in a box under the tree better than that? Donât call it just that, Damon.
