Finn carried Luna over to the large recliner chair in the living room that she and Jinx normally shared. He climbed onto the chair carefully, curled up with Luna, and was asleep in seconds. Bryn looked at Finn with a bemused expression as she stood next to the recliner, hip leaning against the side. “I know the kid is packing a lot of magic, but I’m pretty sure his ability to fall asleep in ten seconds, no matter the situation or environment, is one of his superpowers.”

He’s always had that ability, Luna agreed.

“Do you remember, Luna? Are your memories back?” I asked. Luna’s violet eyes grew distant for a moment, and she shook her head. Not exactly. I can remember people and some events, but not the context or history around them. I think they’re coming back, though. Seeing Fionn again must have sparked something.

“Fionn is his real name?” I looked at the sleeping boy. His shaggy chestnut hair was covering most of his face. He still had dirt all over him and blood from hugging Bryn. We’d have to get him cleaned up when he woke from his nap.

“Fionn,” Kalen said from where he still sat in the kitchen. “Son of Balor and Siofra.”

Everyone turned to look at Kalen, who graciously accepted a cup of coffee from Andrei. He took a sip, and a look of pure pleasure spread across his face. “Thank you, wolf. It’s been a while since I’ve had coffee. It’s one of the few things I truly enjoy in this realm.”

“That’s nice,” I said sweetly. “Now tell us what the fuck you know.”

“Starting with who you are,” Magos said in a calm, polite voice and walked over to the kitchen and started pouring more coffee.

Andrei smoothly slid out of his way and grabbed the plate with stacked sandwiches. He brought it over to Bryn first, who grabbed half a sandwich. Andrei continued holding the plate in front of her, looking at her expectantly. She sheepishly grabbed another half. He smiled and continued bringing the plate around until everyone had grabbed some.

I strode over to the kitchen and sat on the stool next to Kalen, letting my magic out to wrap around me in a not-so-subtle threat. “Yes, Kalen. Why don’t you introduce yourself properly?” I arched an eyebrow in challenge.

Kalen studied me, his blue eyes calculating. Something wasn’t right about them, but I couldn’t figure out what. I could see through most glamours, at least I thought I could, but I would bet my favorite pair of swords the eyes I was seeing weren’t his true eyes. A smile spread across his handsome face, drawing attention to his strong features. Unlike most sidhe who leaned towards androgyny, Kalen’s features were more rough and masculine. I tried to find similarities in our appearance but couldn’t see any resemblance. It seemed the only thing I’d gotten from him was his devourer magic.

“Of course,” he said smoothly, his posture relaxed. I didn’t understand how he could be so unaffected by meeting me for the first time.
