PRIVATE BLOG ENTRY: THE CAT FACES THE MUSIC (X1501)

I have to tell my friends and extended family. I know in my heart that I have personally deliver what should be happy news to a bunch of people who won't be happy about it.

It's harshing my buzz.

My immediate family knows. While they may joke about Taurus and dirty diapers or if the baby will eat the nanny, they love me and always support me. However, my other liaisons and mates will not understand. I keep going over the possibilities in my head and it never gets any better.

Wilde and Sari will pretend to be excited and overreact with good tidings, but they will start planning something terrible in the background. Sari already made noise after Beltane about her coyote journey and alluded to some soul quest that Wilde wants to go on. I don't know what that is, but as cagey as she's being? It terrifies me. How the hell is he going anywhere when he's courting Talia and Amanda? Isn't his damned schedule full?

Constantine and Shea have been much less visible in my life lately and maybe that will help them come to terms with the announcement. I've made my own decisions about what I will and will not do when I'm pregnant and they're going to have to live with it.

Hell, can I say that out loud to anyone? It's going to hurt them and the last thing I want to do after everything the community's been through is to open a wound. Maybe I can avoid being physical. If I keep them at arms' length, I won't go back on the promise I made to Taurus.

I should be over the moon and starting to shop for a nursery, not trying to figure out how to keep them from groping me when I'm carrying someone else's kid. My life is far too complicated for comfort now.

I'll go to Wilde and Sari first and see how that goes. I can work on the others from there. Taurus is out of town on a mission and the boys have lots of errands to run for the party prep, so a visit to crazy town will be fine.

Sigh.
