Chapter Six

“I have always loved Morgan and will love her until the day I die, but what I feel for you is so much more,” Marcus told me in the quiet of the night.

We were still entangled in each other, having made love most of the night. We also talked, showered together, made love again, raided the small refrigerator of wine, fruit, and water, talked, and made love again. Now we lay quietly just reveling in each other. A taste, a touch, even our smells seemed to have woven us together. At this point, we had loved each other sore. We had also been telling each other some of our most intimate thoughts. Things I suspected Marcus has never shared with anyone. I knew I certainly had never disclosed like this.

“I yearn and ache for you.” Marcus hugged me tighter against him, buried his face in my hair, and breathed in deeply. “When you’re there, I see no one else, nothing else but you. My feelings for you are on a different plane, another stratosphere from anything I’ve ever experienced.” His deep voice had a slight crack in it. “I’ve never felt anything like it.”

“I get it because I feel the same.” I spoke in the same hushed tone Marcus had been using. It felt incredibly intimate, and I couldn’t imagine us being any closer than we were right then. “I didn’t understand why my senses had always seemed to be clamoring for you, yearning for you. And to be honest, I thought you had enough people loving you so desperately. Morgan and Armand would lay down their life for you.”

“And for you too. We have both been blessed by their unwavering love. Do you think that their machinations have all been about me? They love you, too, and know that I will take care of you and love you as no one else could.”

Tears clouded my vision and dripped on his chest. “Morgan and Armand were genuine earthbound angels. They have selflessly given us this. You and I have truly been blessed by their love for us.”

I felt Marcus’s smile against my hair. “Angels? Not quite, but I get your meaning.”

“Do you think they know what we have been doing in here?”

Marcus laughed softly. “Well, if they hadn’t guessed, your screams of ‘fuck me harder, Marcus’ and ‘oh God, Marcus, don’t stop’ would have been strong clues.”

I smacked his arm in embarrassment and then grimaced when I remembered how delirious I had been in my lust. Not only did I do things I would have never dreamed of doing but I had also lost control by screaming out sexual demands. Oh God, how embarrassing?!

“So, what now?” I asked in a desperate attempt to change the direction of our conversation and because I really wanted to know.

Marcus shifted me to my back on the bed. He looked so intent I rushed to clarify.
