Heavy rubber floggers, weighted falls, and knotted falls can leave bruises when used in heavy play. Very thin and stiff falls on a flogger can cause welts or in extreme cases cut the skin. This is more likely when used on skin where the bones are closer to the surface.

Technique

There are a wide variety of flogging techniques. We will go over the basics here, which will give you skills to use to create a full flogging scene. From circles for warm up, figure 8’s for mid-range play and overhand strikes for more intense play, these three techniques can be combined to achieve a full range of sensation.
