January 12—Nothing happened today. I came home and watched TV.

April 13—Tammy and me were gonna go to a movie but I had a crummy piano lesson. So Tammy and Trina went bowling and Gretch and I were stuck at home. It all got better when TV came on. Good medicine.

No matter what day that diary opens to, the reader will get an eyeful of TV stars and shows. I watched TV—10,000 hours. I was an expert for sure.

There will never be a time in your life when you’ll have so many free hours available to you as right now. You don’t have bills to pay, a house to clean, or a job. Don’t be distracted by Facebook. Learn something.

If you were to spend just ten hours per week (that’s a couple of hours per day) pursuing something you were good at and loved to do, you could someday be an expert. What would you love to do? Mountain climbing, sailing, gymnastics, skating, singing, reading, writing, dance, bug collecting, videography, web design, animal training, painting…! You can do anything with all this time.
