Only later in the curriculum does Terdak Lingpa turn his focus to meditation practice, again offering an array of paths for individuals. He directs “those who are interested in the Development Stage”49 to proceed in one of a variety of ways, engaging with the appropriate text focused on an appropriate deity for the appropriate amount of time:

As for those students who are interested in the Development Stage practices, devotedly propitiate whichever of these meditational deities is appropriate for at least six months—Fierce and Peaceful Guru Padmasambhava (bla ma zhi drag), the Great Compassionate One (thugs rje chen po), the Illusory Manifestation (sgyu ’phrul), the Eight Pronouncements (bka’ brgyad), Kilaya (phur pa), Yamantaka (gshin rje gshed), and so forth. Through continuous meditation and uninterrupted recitation, training these three—the body, sense perceptions, and mind—as the wheel of pure boundless wisdom, perform the practices of the twenty-eight samayas and so forth, unerring in accepting and rejecting the distinctions between perceived phenomena.
