ERIE COMMONS

Lehigh. 1902–10. The Lehigh Mine was located in Erie Commons east of the 1000 block of Zodo Avenue, south of Austin just past the cul-de-sac. Bryan and Susan Holland saw excavated mine timbers and shafts being unearthed as the land was prepared for new homes on Nelson Avenue.

TELLEEN AVENUE AND EAST COUNTY LINE ROAD

Stewart. 1883–92. The Stewart Mine was located on Jackson Drive west of East County Line Road and south of Telleen Avenue, near where Jackson Drive turns and runs east–west.

Northrup. 1883–84. The Northrup Mine was located west of East County Line Road, south of the railroad tracks and north of Telleen Avenue.

Chase. 1892–95. The Chase Mine was located west of the intersection of Telleen Avenue and Meller Street, near where Red Hawk Elementary School was built. It is accessible from a dirt road off Meller.
