After having Amelia in my lens for the entire day, I learn firsthand how innocent and fragile the girl is. It makes me angry that some thugs broke into her apartment and demolished it to scare her.

Nobody is going to terrorize this girl. Not on my watch. This is how I find myself driving to the casino where the thugs that terrorized Amelia work. I am tense and angry,

The idea of going to a casino full of people ticks me off. Why am I doing something that I hate so much? I hate crowds. My true motivation is that I am doing it for Amelia and my peace of mind.

I park my car and go into the casino with guns blazing in my mind. Prepared for anything, I stop in my tracks when I see Anthony sitting at the bar. He sees me and grins.

Walking towards Anthony, I clench and unclench my hands, how did he beat me here? Is he here for the same reason I am here?

“What’s up?” Anthony acknowledges me.

“I’m here to pay off Amelia’s debt.”

Anthony swivels his bar chair so that he can fully see me. He takes a drink of his martini and just stares at me for a while, then he speaks:

“I’m here for the same reason.”

Now it’s time for me to decide if I want to join forces with Anthony or do I want to kick his ass out of here? Before I can decide, the manager of the casino comes out from a back room and is walking towards us.

The manager is a big intimidating guy but before I can quake in my boots, I realize that Anthony and I know this guy. Luxury did an article on a trending bar and Rolph was our go-to-guy.

“Rolph, how the hell are you?” says Anthony.

Rolph gets behind the bar and pours me some Jamison. I take the whiskey and down it in one gulp. I have my liquid courage now.

“To whom do I owe the pleasure of this visit?”

You would think after hearing this that Rolph is our friend. Rolph is nobody’s friend. He is about his business and nothing else, I meet his cold stare with a colder one.

“We’re here about Amelia Bennett and your goons who tore up her apartment,” I say, glowering at him.

There is a flicker of recognition in his cold eyes, he cocks his bald head to the side and grimaces.

“Do you know Amelia?” asks Anthony.

Rolph pauses for a moment. Of course, he knows Amelia, he is behind the intimidation campaign to scare her. His answer will be key to what we do next.

“I know Ms. Bennett well. I am surprised that you know her. May I share with you that she deserves this attention she is getting from me.”

Anthony and I look at each other, I give him the indication that I am going to be heavy.

“Here is the money she owes,” says Anthony who then throws a roll of money on the bar.

I do not like that he is paying but it’s okay, I’ll defend and protect Amelia.
