Avalanche Ranch Cabins & Hot Springs sits on the hillside above the West Elk Loop Scenic Byway, nestled in the woods and away from traffic. This quiet little getaway seems secluded but isn’t far from town.
The Hot Springs
Hot spring water pours from a rustic cabin at 104° and cascades through three pools with temps ranging from 95° to 105°. The lowest, coolest pool is also the biggest, at 15 feet by 30 feet, and attracts young swimmers. The middle pool, the hottest, is 15 feet by 20 feet, and the highest pool is 15 feet by 10 feet; both are soaking pools with quiet, relaxed atmospheres. Decks surround the pools, with views of Mount Sopris to the east. The water comes from two wells located on the property that are 100° and 109°. The hot springs pools refresh completely every 2 hours, and guests have 24-hour access.
