Fuck…I can’t decide what to wear. I made a reservation at an Italian bistro near the hospital so, I could go straight there for my shift but, I don’t want to wear my scrubs even though I’m sure Bruno wouldn’t mind. Browsing the clothes in my closet, I settle on a black Henley and dark blue jeans. The restaurant isn’t one of those places that has a dress code in order to get in so, what I’ve picked should be fine. Once I’m dressed, I slip on the sneakers I always wear to work and head out. Bruno is meeting me at the restaurant. I would’ve loved to pick him up but, since I have to go to work right after, I wouldn’t have time to take him home and get back without being late.

The drive to the restaurant is only about half an hour since I live outside the city. My land toes the property line of the local pack on the back side. I think the pack alpha was a little disappointed that I snapped it up before he could but, we’ve become good friends despite that. His pack has permission to run on my land so, when Bruno and I bond, he and the boys will still be able to enjoy pack runs if they decide to move in with me. I hope they will. Spending the day getting to know the boys while we had fun at Six Flags was enough for them to steal my heart.

After everything they’ve been through, those boys and their dad deserve to be spoiled. If I have my way, they’ll never want for anything and those boys will never again know the pain of being discarded by someone who’s supposed to love them. At least, not until they’re adults and out on their own. I can’t protect them from a boyfriend or girlfriend breaking their hearts but, I can make sure I never do.

Parking my car in front of the restaurant, I see Bruno standing by the door waiting. He’s wearing a gray button down and black jeans with a pair of black combat boots. The setting sun hits his hair just right making it shine. Beautiful. Exiting the car, I walk over to Bruno who’s smile lights up his whole face when he sees me. Gods, I want to see that look on his face often. Greeting him with a kiss, I say, “Hello, sweet omega, you look beautiful.”

Bruno blushes and says, “Thank you, you aren’t so bad yourself.”

Placing my hand at the small of his back, I lead him into the restaurant. After giving my name to the hostess, we follow her to our table, a secluded booth in the back that gives us privacy. Bruno and I slide into the booth, him on one side me on the other. Flipping open the menu, I browse the selections even though I know what I want. When our server appears for our drink orders, I order water while Bruno orders a glass of wine.
