This section ridicules the work of the outer alchemists. They will as easily poison you as help you – and then none of the saints and sages will be able to come to your aid. Yet if the Golden Elixir is gathered solidly within your own belly, although you may remain stupid and unable to explain it, it will still lengthen and strengthen your life.

Master Shangyang comments: Most certainly, the inner energy of the true Yin and Yang comes through things which occur in the same kind of circumstances being merges and matched together. How could you ever then be without the marvellous Elixir for long!
