PROPOSAL TIP #9: GET SPECIFIC ABOUT WHY YOU LOVE HER

That weekend, Daisy had drawn the short straw and ended up working both the Friday night engagement party and the Saturday afternoon bridal shower. The upside was that she got to have Valentine’s Day off.

Not that it seemed to matter because she hadn’t heard from Xander since the amazing night she shared with him at his place.

It was only four days, but…still.

She’d taken the weekend parties because the girls all wanted the weekend off so they could go out with their guys on a night that wasn’t Valentine’s Day. Apparently once you’re in a committed relationship, you understand that fighting the crowded restaurants isn’t fun.

Plus, they all seemed to think that since she’d been helping her brother with proposal ideas that she’d want that day off.

Unfortunately, after presenting Dom with no less than fifty-one proposal options, he hadn’t chosen any of them. Instead, he was going to go with the most common one in the book and propose over dinner with the ring in the glass of champagne. He said he couldn’t take the pressure, and it was still going to be better than their other brothers, so…he definitely had a point.

He was being boring as hell, but he did have a point.

Still, Valentine’s Day was only three days away and she couldn’t help but hope that he would change his mind at the last minute.

“Thanks for everything, Daisy! Everything went off without a hitch. We can’t thank you enough!” This came from Barbara Warner, mother of the bride at today’s shower.

“You are very welcome, Mrs. Warner. We loved being able to bring your vision to life!”

After a brief conversation about the cleanup and scheduling the next appointment to go over more wedding plans, Daisy wished everyone a good day and was out the door.

It was a little after four and her plans had been to go home and just rest. Last night’s party didn’t end until almost one and she hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep because she’d been keyed up when she got home, but now the thought of a hot bath and perhaps some Chinese food was beyond appealing.

She remembered the size of the tub in Xander’s bathroom and had some serious envy.

And wished she could just call and ask him if she could come over.

Wait. Why can’t I?

Sitting in her car, she pulled out her phone and sent him a quick text.

Daisy: Hey! Just got done with a bridal shower and I’m done for the weekend. Any chance you’re free to hang out?

There. That didn’t sound too needy, right?

Xander: We just finished with a recruit class. You should meet me here and make good on that demonstration you mentioned the other night.

Ooh…so he wants to play, does he?

Daisy: You’re on. See you soon.

Actually, he wouldn’t see her overly soon because first she needed to run home and change clothes. Even though in the real world she’d have to defend herself no matter what she was wearing, for this particular exercise, she wanted to be comfy.
