We fly for only a few minutes and the feeling is so exciting I never want it to stop. I feel weightless and free, like I could see every inch of this world and never get bored.

"We're almost there. We can't fly in, though," Amalie warns before slowly starting to descend.

Willow lands softly, much softer than she did with just Amalie on her back. Once all four legs are on the ground, Willow lays on her stomach, crouching as far down as she can. I jump off first, holding out my hand for Amalie behind me. She just smiles, ignoring my hand and uses Willow's forelimb as a stepping stone.

I look around the Nightlands but don't see anything. It's just kilometers of endless expanse. I cock an eyebrow at Amalie in question, "You live in the middle of nowhere?"

She shakes her head but doesn't reply. She chews on her bottom lip as if trying to find the right words to say. "Keep looking," she says in a small voice. I almost didn't hear her, if I was human I don't think that I would be able to.

I do as she says, looking deeper into the darkness in front of me. All I see is barren trees, falling snow that glitters off the moonlight high above and twinkling stars that match the snow. I try to clear my head and look with an open mind. Think of this place as her home and not of the Nightlands.

It takes me a moment, but finally in front of me, I see a small movement of a barrier. The snowflakes reflect like little mirrors, creating the illusion of an endless expanse.

"There's a barrier, some sort of protection magic?" I ask, unsure if she will confirm or deny my suspicions.

To my surprise she does, with a small nod I know I'm right. Asterin must be behind this veil, that's why nobody knows it exists. Except for the text found in the Water Kingdom library, there is little to no information on this place.

I smile with anticipation, and Amalie mirrors me. She's grinning like the first day I brought Willow home, as if this is the greatest gift she's ever received.

Amalie extends her hand, inviting me to take it and I do without hesitation. Hand in hand we walk through the barrier.

To my shock, it feels like small blades cutting into my skin and my mind becomes confused for a few moments. I can feel the magic coursing through me and enveloping my head. My muddled brain takes some time to register that I'm in some place entirely different.

"Welcome to Asterin," Amalie says. Her small face is so hopeful, full of pride and fear. I want to ask what she's so afraid of, instead I try to focus on her other emotions.

Taking a look around the town that was literally invisible two seconds earlier, I realize it's no different than anything found in the Earth Kingdom. The most shocking part is that it shouldn't be here. Everything I've learned, everything I've been taught says this doesn't exist.
