Find All Possible Combinations

Instructions : Look at the list below. There’s a list of all seventeen prepositions that we’ve been talking about. Your job is to choose all the prepositions that can work with each sentence below. There might be many possible answers. This exercise is similar to previous ones, but now we want to find all possible prepositions instead of choosing from a few. The purpose of this exercise is to think about all the possible contexts and meanings that a sentence can have depending on the preposition. If a preposition doesn’t work, try to see if you can change the sentence a little to make it work. Write your answer. There are examples in the answers section. If you have any questions about your sentences, you can post them on italki or lang-8. Again, try to ignore answers that you think would be extremely uncommon. Note that for many of these sentences, there would be more answers if there were more information, especially after the last word in the sentence. We want to find the answers that work with the information that’s there.
