Looking at Symptoms as Blocked Energy
So if the message or communication from symptoms is that there is a blocking or imbalance or emotional or intuitive energy right now, what steps do we need to take to redress this balance and allow our energy to flow? The first step is to increase your awareness of when your symptoms are presenting themselves. Whether it be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME, Post Viral Fatigue, Adrenal Fatigue, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Depression or Anxiety, symptoms almost always fluctuate. In the majority of cases there are symptoms that seem to be ever present, we could call these the baseline level of symptoms. Then there are the symptoms that seem to increase and decrease, these are the fluctuating symptoms. To begin with I would like you to focus on the fluctuating symptoms.
If you think about the last few days or week, can you remember how symptom levels have changed? If you can’t, you might want to take a day or so and allow yourself to simply be aware of how your symptoms change. A significant proportion of my clients with chronic fatigue and pain symptoms have told me that their symptoms are always the same and never change. After several days of practising open awareness and allowing themselves to pay attention to symptom levels, they’ve noticed that symptoms do vary and fluctuate. In fact, many clients have told me that symptoms seem more intense or severe at the start of the process, primarily because they have done their best to ignore or tune out. Symptoms have appeared to be ever present, but this is largely because of the significant efforts made to push them aside.
Symptoms could be aches, pains, fatigue, brain fog or other cognitive problems, stomach and bowel discomfort, anxiety, sudden changes of mood. A fluctuation could mean that you notice changes in symptom levels over the last hour, or it could be that you notice a fairly sudden increase in symptoms over five or ten minutes. It could even be that you have noticed symptoms gradually increase over the course of a morning or afternoon. The key point is that you need to allow your awareness to develop for the changes and fluctuations in symptoms, especially when you notice that symptoms are increasing, because symptoms increases are an indication that your true self is seeking to get your attention. Being aware of symptom increases is one thing, knowing what to do is something else, and that is what we are moving on to next.
To begin with, let’s keep things simple; let’s assume that when there is an increase in symptoms, some low vibrational emotions are lurking underneath that lie outside of your conscious awareness. Just as a reminder, the low vibrational emotions most likely to trigger symptoms are, anger, frustration, fear, guilt, boredom, and shame, or some combination of these.
Try this process as soon as you notice your symptoms increase:
1. Stop what you are doing, bring all your energy and attention into the present moment and place your attention on the outside of your head.
