Take Over.

Soon we were inside the space ship's medical center.

I found myself lying on the operating table while one of the ship's crew examined me closely with a number of strange electronic instruments.

The man, who I took to be the ship's doctor, examined the strange lumpy green plant growth that was now spreading along my arm and onto the back of my hand and fingers.

'Is there anything you can do for my friend, doctor?' Holmes asked.

The doctor didn't look up from my arm. 'The scan indicates a highly aggressive alien spore has taken root inside his arm.'

'Can you do something about it?' I demanded.

'Yes, it is a relatively simple procedure. I will inject an anti-biotic which will repel and destroy the alien spores and then your skin will heal and recover.'

'I'll be okay?'

'You will soon return to normal once the aliens spores are destroyed and rejected.'

'But wouldn't that take a very long time? This plant growth is very fast spreading and very aggressive.' Holmes noted.

'That's a point!' I agreed.

'No. Our medical technology is highly advanced. Once the aliens spores are dead your arm will be repaired rapidly.'

'Okay that is great! Please get on with it! Please hurry! I am starting to feel like a salad.'

'Very well! I shall prepare the injection now.' said the ship's doctor.

'You may proceed.' said the Captain.

The ship's doctor turned and spoke towards the wall and the voice of the computer answered him.

'This is the chief medical officer speaking. Please prepare the necessary injection for this man's infection, Computer.'

The disembodied voice replied. 'Understood. The injection will be prepared. Please stand by to receive it.'

A small box shaped glass chamber lit up suddenly and the ship's doctor opened it. He took out a long silver rod with a small red button on it.

'The ship's computer users Nano technology to prepare all medical devices as required.' He explained casually.

Sherlock Holmes seemed fascinated but I just watched impatiently and waited for the injection which would save my life.

Just as the doctor was about to inject me in the arm with the silver rod there was a sensation like a violent Earthquake.

There was a terrible rumbling sound and the entire spaceship shook violently. Things fell to the floor everyone staggered about.

'What is going on now?' I asked. 'Is that an Earthquake or what?

'Report, Computer! 'The Captain snapped.

'Attention! Sensors indicate planetary disturbance.'

'What is the cause of the disturbance, Computer?

'Gravitational pull from an astral body.'

Holmes considered this. 'It must be that neutron star! It must be getting closer and closer all the time. Its gravitational pull must be affecting this planet and other planets in this star system. It will cause violent Earthquakes as it comes closer and closer. The Earthquakes will get worse and worse as we grow closer to the time of impact.'

The Captain took this in. 'Please confirm, Computer. Is the source of gravitational disruption the neutron star which we have already detected?'

The Computer responded. 'Confirmed. The neutron star is responsible for the gravitational disruption.'

I got impatient. 'Okay, okay!
