Chapter Four
IT WAS ANOTHER forty minutes before Shaun dragged himself out of Jesseâs bed.
Jesse sat up, a little pout on his face. âWhere are you going?â
âBathroom.â Shaun snatched his clothes from the floor. He could feel Jesseâs eyes on him, looking him over like he was some sort of spectacle, and he piled his clothes in his arms and stuffed his feet in his shoes. âI need my clothes back, by the way,â he murmured. âYou have my boots.â
âTheyâre in my bag downstairs.â Jesse plopped back on the pillows. âHurry up! I miss your warm body.â
Shaun flushed as he slipped into the hall. When he reached the bathroom, he shut the door firmly behind him.
As he stepped up to the sink, he caught his reflection in the mirror. He ran a finger over the bruise on his cheek, but his eyes didnât go any lower. He was ugly. He hated looking at himself. He couldnât imagine anyone could ever love someone as flawed as he was.
Thatâs why Jesseâs confession made him so uncomfortable. Jesseâs love made Shaun feel like he was naked all the time. He was constantly unsure of himself and about how he was supposed to act and think and feel.
Shaun looked critically at his hand as he turned on the faucet. Revenge had been the only thing on his mind yesterday when heâd beaten the shit out of that locker, and when heâd visited Kenny and Eric after school, but now he was regretting it, and he blamed Jesse in a large part for what had happened. He was going to have to cancel the show tonight, and heâd never done that before, but his playing wasnât going to be up to par. Shaun didnât want to embarrass himself and the band. That would be worse than a no-show.
With a deep sigh of resignation, he leaned over the sink and splashed water at his groin. His cock and balls were crusted with the remnants of their sperm, and he hastily washed the mess away.
He moved on to his T-shirt once he was clean. The black cotton had stiff, white stains around the hem, and he looked around the tiny room before he spotted a hand towel on the rack. He grabbed it, got it wet, and then added some hand soap. He laid his shirt out on the counter and vigorously scrubbed the stain. When he was done, it looked like heâd spilled a drink in his lap, and he wished he could go home to change but knew Jesse would whine like a baby if he did.
He pulled on his stained shirt and the rest of his clothes, scowling at Jesse and their stupid gay relationship as he dressed. He turned to exit the room and caught his reflection in the mirror again as he grasped the doorknob. He pulled a terrible face at himself, then opened the door and ran right smack into a very naked and very antsy redhead.
âIâve gotta piss,â Jesse said as he hurried to the toilet.
