CHAPTER 6

Bruno

I slide my hands down the sides of her torso, resting them on her hips. “You’re so fucking beautiful. Even flat on your back, in the snow.”

Chloe giggles. “You’re still such a charmer.”

“But if you wear a dress like this again without me by your side, you will be punished. Nobody puts their hands on you again. Nobody gets to look at you like that again or else I’ll stab him in the fucking eyeballs.”

She bites down on her lower lip. “Punish me? Oohh, tell me more…”

“Excuse me, sir.”

I peer into bright flashing lights at a guy in a black suit interrupting us.

“I just got a complaint about an assault?”

I lace my fingers with Chloe’s and pull her close. “Yeah, some jackass put his hands on my girl.”

The guy furrows his brow. “No, it came from a gentleman who said—”

“Look, friend,” I say, stepping toward him.

We’re about the same height but he’s skinny and scrawny. I guess he doesn’t use the weight room here. Could be a big problem for him if he doesn’t step the fuck off.

“I don’t know how things work here in what-the-hell-ever country we’re in right now. But back in the United States, we don’t put up with sexual assault. And if some guy grabs my girl’s ass, he should consider himself very lucky that I didn’t slice off every finger that groped her.”

The guy steps back slightly, his eyebrows flying upward. “I didn’t know—”

“Then you should’ve found out, don’t you think? Before you come over here and start accusing me?”

Matteo and Nico, the bosses of the Villani and Salesi families, stalk toward us. Their expressions scream murder and the nightclub host hears it all loud and clear.

“I think you should walk away right now,” Matteo growls, cracking his tattooed knuckles. “And tell that pussy he got off easy this time. But if he even thinks of coming back for round two, he’s gonna be battling my whole crew.” He steps closer to the guy, getting right into his shocked and panicked face. “Capice?”

I think the club host just pissed his pants.

He backs away and runs from the dance floor in pants so tight, I don’t know how he can breathe. But that’s Europe.

Matteo winks at me and claps Nico on the shoulder. “Let’s get a drink.”

They head toward our VIP table, leaving me alone with Chloe.

She lifts an eyebrow. “Your girl, huh?”

“I just said I’m not letting you go again. You got a problem with that?”

Chloe places a hand on my chest, her eyelashes fluttering as she closes the distance between us. “Only if you don’t take me somewhere right now and fuck me senseless.” She cocks her head to the side, her dark hair tumbling over her shoulder.

I bring a hand to the back of her head and tug on her hair. “That pussy is so greedy, isn’t it?”

“Greedy and hungry.” She looks up at me, a seductive glimmer in her eyes. “It’s been a long time.”

“Too fucking long,” I grunt, crushing my lips against hers.
