Chapter 10

“Shit,” I whispered harshly as I quickly put the glasses onto my face.

The stunned guy in front of me had witnessed me literally knocking a guy to the ground, and then he saw my eyes glow red, so it made sense that he looked as though he’d just seen a ghost.

I was pretty sure I shared the same expression when I noticed the ghostly witches last night.

Then, before anyone could freak out more, Fiona stepped forward and placed one hand on the guy’s shoulder.

“Hey, are you okay?” I heard her ask beneath the blaring music.

I could already tell she was going to warp his emotions, and my theory was confirmed when the guy frowned, and looked around the kitchen like he was trying to gather his bearings.

“What the fuck happened to him?” he snorted as he pointed to the Toby on the floor.

“Oh, my god, how did you miss it?” Fiona laughed, even though I could tell it was forced. “I think Toby’s had a bit too much to drink. He literally crashed through both tables! What an idiot.”

The confused guy snorted, then he shook his head in amusement before he walked away.

“There.” Fiona smirked and wiped her hands together as she returned to us. “He’s totally confused, so even if he thinks he saw your eyes glowing, he can’t prove that to himself, or anyone else, for that matter.”

“Thank you.” I smiled. “Now, let’s get the fuck out of here.”

“Oh, definitely,” she laughed. “We’ve outstayed our welcome.

It had been less than a minute since Samantha stormed out of the house, so we could probably still catch up with her snotty ass on the way home.

“Wait, I can’t walk in these shoes anymore,” Robyn huffed as she balanced herself against me.

Fortunately, because Robyn didn’t go anywhere without being fully prepared for every disaster, she had a pair of flat shoes folded up in her purse. They took up the majority of the purse, but they came folded up in their own separate pouch, and it was such a Robyn thing to bring a spare pair of shoes with her.

“Goodness,” Robyn laughed as a blissful smile curled across her lips. “That feels so much better already. Okay, sorry for the delay. Let’s go now.”

“Take all the time you need.” I smiled.

Fiona, Willow, and Tasha hurried on ahead to catch up with Samantha, Julia looped her arm through mine as she wobbled on her dangerous shoes, but Mo managed to get another plate of sweet treats before he hurried to catch up with us.

“I can’t believe you just decked that guy!” Mo stage-whispered as we headed back in the direction of the Rho Alpha Theta house.

“Neither can I,” I snorted. “It all happened so quickly. But I don’t regret it.”

“Even though you’ve probably broken Toby’s jaw?” Mo snickered. “Grayson Price went out tonight and chose violence, is that what you’re saying?”

“Grayson was protecting us,” Robyn replied. “Mainly Samantha, so I have no idea why she ran off like this. Bit rude, honestly.
