Amethyst looked over at Andreas and felt his anger rolling off him in waves. It was clear from the way that his chest was rising and falling rapidly; he was seething with rage as he glared down at her. Amie kept her stance neutral but did not move. The wolf knew it would trigger the Alpha’s hunting instincts if she ran and would come off as a challenge if she didn’t watch her body language. Right now, both options could result in death.

“Get your ass back in the fucking house now,” Andreas demanded.

Andreas, I am not going to tuck my tail between my legs and rush inside just because you told me to.

“Do you dare defy me?”

I am your equal, Andreas. I am not defying you by stating I will not bend to your will.

Her mate’s hands were balled into fists and moving around as if he was contemplating on using them. Andreas’ eyes flashed red, and Emira was thankful that she was inside of her wolf’s body instead of her own. She had never seen any wolf’s eyes flash red before. If anything, that was not even something she had ever heard of happening. The unknown of why it could be possible had her wanting to show her belly. However, Amethyst knew that she was Andreas’ equal and wasn’t budging.

“You are MY mate, and you will do as I damn well please. Get the fuck back into the house. NOW.”

Andreas made no move toward her, though Emira could feel through their bond that his anger was beginning to seep through. She thought it would be easier to de-escalate him right now instead. It was a known fact that mates found it hard to hurt one another. It’s not like he would attack her physically…

Until you change your tone, I am not moving. Yes, I am YOUR mate, but I am not your slave. Please, Andreas, just try to calm down. I don’t want to fight or cause you to become angrier at me.

“Are you fucking stupid?” Andreas took a step closer to her. “You don’t want to make me angrier, yet you continue to talk instead of doing what I say.”

Calling me names isn’t going to help.

That’s when she felt it. A pull inside of the bond to do as he said. Andreas pushed his Alpha aura into their bond to manipulate her actions. It shouldn’t have worked since they were now marked as each other’s, but Emira could feel the magic inside of his will. Amethyst tried to fight it, but even she was having trouble not wanting to listen to his demands.

“You are going to go inside that house, go into our room, and shift back into your human form.”

Emira felt Amethyst throw her own power into the mate bond and push back onto his aura with her own. Now that they were Alphas themselves, they were able to use the Alpha aura. Amethyst, being more familiar with how it worked, did everything that she could to fight his words and did not move from her spot.
