Quebi Calls on Vibhor

The next day morning, Quebi called on Vibhor for a meeting. They occupied a conference room on the top floor where Quebi worked. Vibhor was ready with the status report on the latest game project he was doing, wondering why this out of turn catchup; which was so uncharacteristic of Quebi.

“Here is the status of the AI gaming project Quebi. We were to review this a few weeks later.” Vibhor started.

“We will see the report in its own time Vibhor, I have called for this meeting to discuss a more exciting project, that is closer to my heart, though I doubt it is good for my pocket. I have been following the advice of R&K lately and reflecting on my condition. It is evident to me, that I have accumulated enough resources to live a good life and leave some for my future generations. However, today there is nothing that I have given the world at large. It is my desire to work on a project that will give humanity a gift, from what we have been endowed with. It will not be possible to do the project without your skills and attitude. We have the two abilities that I am counting on, project management and AI skills, between us. Second, we have in common the appreciation of R&K’s wisdom and methods that guide us.” Quebi said.

Vibhor sat up at these words, knowing that Quebi was a very original thinker and her ability to come up with new to the world ideas was the reason for the success of Sality. He sat without saying a word while she outlined the plan she had deviced. He questioned her bizarre plan over and over, taking the role of a raw sceptic. She had outlined on the white Board the whole story with its key parts. Vibhor, went on to query, contend and explore until he had got every bit of information she could come up with.

Team members passing the conference room were wondering what the two were discussing for so many hours. Both Quebi and Vibhor had lost track of time. Even as Vibhor had converted to Quebi’s conviction, he went on to inquire details of what and how. Quebi, though not prepared with intrinsic details kept the rhythm going to make sure they had discussed it thoroughly before she set her heart on it.

When all was said and done, Vibhor sat back and reviewed the details. He must have sat for a good ten to twelve minutes before let out a sigh and said “If this project goes through, I would love to be a part of it Quebi. It is a wonderful idea whose time has come. It would be a contribution to humanity at large, and how! Now that you have converted me, my fear is that the Board will not see commercial value in this and will not allow us to invest in it.”
