“I wanted to see if everything was okay after what we'd shared. And if you'd be interested

in dinner tonight. After work.”

“Sure.”

He smiled. “That was two questions.”

“Same answer for both.”

“I don't think you understand the second question. I'm asking you for a date.”

“You are?”

“I am.” His eyes were intense as he looked at her. It made her insides quiver.

She stayed quiet for what seemed like the longest time.

“What's your answer now?”

“It's still yes.”

He exhaled. Slowly, he reached out and cupped her head, bringing her closer to him. He

bent and touched his lips to hers softly. His hand dropped, sliding down to her waist and

holding her against him.

Clapping sounded behind her.

Startled, she turned slightly to see the tour group smiling as they watched. She smiled,

turning the rest of the way in his arms. He wrapped both arms around her waist, pulling her

backward into him. It made her feel warm, protected and loved.

“Way to go, honey,” the woman from earlier said. “If I were twenty years younger, I'd

give you a run for your money.”

Everyone in the room laughed again.

Neo whispered into her ear. “On that note, let's leave. Because she's serious.”

She slipped her hand into his as he led her from the room.
