Chapter 15
As I ventured deeper into the enigmatic depths of the dream forest, a thick fog enveloped my surroundings, casting an eerie ambiance that made each step uncertain. The tendrils of mist curled around my feet, obscuring the path and shrouding the towering trees in an ethereal haze. The air hung heavy with a sense of otherworldly mystery, and I couldnât shake the feeling that this realm existed outside the bounds of time and reason.
âMother?â I called, desperate to find her familiarity in this endless darkness.
Undeterred by the disorienting fog, I pressed forward, my determination guiding my every step. I chose a direction, relying on instinct rather than any discernible landmarks, and began my solitary journey.
The silence of the forest was profound, broken only by the distant rustling of unseen creatures and the occasional whisper of wind through the branches. Each footfall echoed softly in the stillness, reminding me of my solitude in this surreal realm. The towering and ancient trees stood like sentinels, their gnarled branches reaching toward me like they were trying to hold me in place.
Time seemed to lose its meaning within this dreamlike realm. Minutes felt like hours, and the passage of time became a hazy concept. Though the fog persisted, occasionally thinning to reveal fleeting glimpses of the twisted landscape,
As I continued my trek, I couldnât shake the feeling of being watched. Unseen eyes seemed to follow my every move, their gaze penetrating the veil of mist. My skin crawled, wondering if whatever beast had roared in my previous dream of this land was watching me now. I maintained my resolve. Step by step, I pushed on, determined to find her. I had to ask what she meant when she told me to remember my gift. I had to find out who I couldnât trust.
âMother?â I shouted again, my voice carrying a mix of desperation and longing.
But there was no sign of her. The dense fog enveloped me, its suffocating embrace disorienting me further. I felt trapped, as if I had been plunged into a world of endless darkness and uncertainty. I couldnât discern the direction I should take or whether I was moving at all.
Through the opaque haze, my motherâs voice reached me like a faint echo, âRemember your gift,â she whispered, her words floating through the mist.
I spun around, desperately searching for the source of her voice, yearning to catch even the slightest glimpse of her presence.
âWhere are you?â I cried out, my voice echoing into the void.
The mist offered no answers, only an eerie silence that intensified my unease. Determined to find her, I chose a new path and began to run, my heart pounding with each desperate step. But it felt like I was trapped in quicksand, my movements sluggish and futile.
Once again, my motherâs voice emerged from the mist, her words sharper and more urgent now. âRemember your gift,â she urged, her voice ethereal and distant, blending with the very essence of the fog. It whispered through the air, teasing me with its elusive nature.
