Conclusion

In this chapter, the focus has been on the side-by-side coexistence of religions on a community broadcasting platform. The examination of such a religious broadcasting model allows us to make sense of the concept ‘communities’ as opposed to ‘community’ of the airwaves. By relying on religious broadcasting as a way of understanding the community radio airwaves, the chapter reimagines the concept of on-air communities by identifying multiple and necessary religious forms of broadcasting that allow us to segment the forms of communities that speak to these multiple and essential forms of broadcasting systems. The chapter thus proves and concludes that community radio stations can be centres of religious conviviality and religious tolerance.
