LIGHT AND AIRY BAKED CAKE DONUTS

I came up with this recipe and wasn’t sure what to call it, so I decided to be literal and just say what they are. These are delicious as they are, but when they’re topped with sweet orange marmalade, they hit another level entirely!

INGREDIENTS

MIXED

1 egg, beaten

½ cup sugar, white granulated

½ cup buttermilk

1⁄8 cup canola oil

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

SIFTED

1 cup flour, unbleached all-purpose

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

1⁄8 teaspoon salt

EXTRAS

Sweet orange marmalade as a topping
