KENNEDY

I checked my phone—again—sighing when there was still nothing. I didn’t even know what I was expecting to see, but three days after that wonderful night at the creek when I woke up in his bed the next morning (that was unexpected) and then our discussion the next day, I expected to get some kind of sign that we would be kicking things up a notch. But so far there had been no sign of that.

Don’t get me wrong. I had heard from Rafe. He’d sent me at least three pictures of Cat, still a terrible name. Rafe’s eyes widened in surprise and he licked his lips. I could feel the heat burning in those gold irises and I had to adjust myself.
