Also here is the work of famed western artist Charles M. Russell, Montana’s own. Russell’s work focused on the beauty and ruggedness of Montana’s landscape and the culture of the Old West. As you travel through north-central Montana, you will view the same backdrops featured in Russell’s paintings, including Square Butte, just west of Great Falls, and various scenes around Lewistown.

Only existing-light photography is allowed in the museum and gallery.
